15 Feb 2012 - Dawn Goodfellow to be 'Women in Racing' Mentor
Dawn Goodfellow will be a mentor on the Women in Racing (WiR) mentoring programme.
Launched last week, the scheme will pair members working in racing with senior figures from
across the racing industry. During 2012 the programme will enable members to work
closely with a mentor to provide guidance and support to help them progress their careers.
The mentors will be able to cover non-executive, corporate and entrepreneurial
ambitions. The objective is to provide WiR members who cross many of the
communities in racing with tailored support, encouragement, guidance and contacts as
needed to help ensure that talented people can develop into senior leadership roles.
January 2012 - The Friends of NRC are organising a visit to Newmarket in June, planned for the weekend of June 8/9/10 2012.
This will take in an afternoon's racing on the July course on 9 June and a number of racing related visits are also planned:
the National Stud
the Horse Racing Museum
the British Racing School
a trainer's yard and the gallops
Accommodation will be arranged but participants will be responsible for getting themselves to and from Newmarket . The friends would be delighted to welcome 'new friends' and if anyone is interested in joining them please contact Alison Harris by early January as accommodation is at a premium on racing weekends and will need to be reserved early in January.
