Friends of the NRC
The Friends of the NRC organisation was formed in 1987, principally to raise funds to help the Northern Racing College to provide training for young persons leading to a job in the racing industry. Whilst the NRC receives support from government funding agencies and from the racing industry, it also relies on additional income streams, such as the Friends of the NRC, to pay for the cost of running a residential and work-based training programme for 52 weeks of the year.
Throughout the year the Friends organise fund raising events and activities, which include the annual open day at the college, race nights, the construction of the "Wall of Fame" and more recently the "Walk of Names". The Friends have also raised in excess of £5000 from the sale of Christmas cards.
Annual membership of the Friends of the NRC is open to any individual or organisation and costs from £10 per year.

As a friend you'll receive newsletters three times a year, which will keep you up to date with what the Charity (Northern Racing College) is doing. Becoming a Friend is also a chance for you to get involved with fundraising and helping with projects which in turn improves the learning experience of the students during their training programmes.
Friends of the Northern Racing College enjoy regular meetings which provide a unique insight into racing and the people who work at the sharp end.
