Racing Secretaries Course
The Racing Secretaries Course is designed to provide aspiring secretaries and newly appointed secretaries with a comprehensive understanding of the role of the trainers secretary, the structure of the racing industry and racing administration.
The two-day course provides a thorough grounding and allows candidates the opportunity to talk directly with key personnel from organisations such as Weatherbys, the National Trainers Federation, the British Horseracing Authority and the International Racing Bureau. To complement the guest speakers an existing secretary will deliver a personal insight into the job.
Lectures will centre around the following:
- The Structure of Racing
- The British Horseracing Authority's Red Book
- Employment Guide delivered by the National Trainers Federation (NTF)
- The NASS/NTF Agreement and Racing Administration
- The Rules of Racing
- Weatherbys, including making online entries and declarations
- International Racing
- Safeguarding

Cost:
£105.00 (inc VAT), payable in advance to 'NRC Trading Ltd' includes tuition, facilities, lunch, tea and coffee. Details of local accommodation will be forwarded upon request. Accommodation is in plentiful supply due to the proximity to Doncaster Racecourse and Doncaster Bloodstock Sales.
