Assistant Trainers Course

The Assistant Trainers Course is the most recently developed course. This is a three-day course reflecting the importance of the assistant trainers' role within stables and on the racecourse where they represent their trainer in Stewards' Enquiries on a daily basis.

The course covers aspects of Staff Management, Handicapping, Media Training, Health and Safety, Racing Welfare, BHA's Licensing and Security functions, Weatherbys Operations and the Rules of Racing.

This course is suitable for Head Grooms and Pupil Assistants as well as Assistants. A recommendation from the trainer or a CV proving sufficient experience must accompany an application.

2011 Course Date:

9th to 11th  August 2011

Cost:

The cost of the course is £400.00. During 2011 the British Horseracing Authority will pay £170 towards the cost of the course, leaving £230.00 to pay.

Details of local accommodation, which will incur an additional cost will be forwarded upon request. Accommodation is in plentiful supply due to the proximity to Doncaster Racecourse and Doncaster Bloodstock Sales.
