Lead Skills for Life Tutor – £38,480.00

(37-hours per week)

The National Horseracing College seeks to employ a Lead Skills for Life Tutor to join its enthusiastic, vibrant, and hardworking team. As one of only two specialist horseracing colleges in the UK, this third-sector provider delivers training for people in both racing and other equine industries. Located in the scenic grounds of a private estate near Doncaster, it achieved Ofsted Grade 2 for overall effectiveness and Grade 1 for both Behaviour & Attitudes and Personal Development in December 2022.

Tutors are responsible for the design, delivery, and assessment of learning programmes within the appropriate curriculum area(s).

Applicants must possess a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Certificate of Psychometric Testing, Assessment and Access arrangements (CPT3A), or be prepared to work towards and achieve it. A Level 3, A Level or equivalent qualification in English and Maths and a Level 4 subject specialism in both Literacy and Numeracy. A Level 2 ED&I qualification, and experience of teaching Functional Skills English and Mathematics at Level 1 and 2 and GCSE English and / or Mathematics.

You should be highly motivated, an excellent communicator and be able to work as part of a team.  You must have a willingness to work with young people who will present challenging behaviours, which at times can be stressful.

The salary is £38,480.00, per annum with a contributory pension scheme. An initial holiday entitlement of 25-days plus Bank Holidays, and Life Assurance (2x salary).
